About Me

For me, home started meaning Nevada at age 10, when my family moved from Middleberg, Florida to Henderson, Nevada. I was educated in our public school system, attending Estes McDoniel Elementary, Thurman White Middle School, and Coronado High School. After high school, I attended Boston University and the University of Michigan Law School. Even after leaving Nevada, returning was always on my mind. As an undergraduate, I interned for Senator Harry Reid and after college, I co-founded a startup in Henderson. After graduating from law school, I started my legal career in Silicon Valley, assisting large tech companies on a wide variety of legal issues. But when my wife and I welcomed our first daughter Vivian in the spring of 2019, I knew it was time to come home. Since returning to Nevada, we have welcomed two new additions – twins Audrey and Sloane. Nevada is our home and I am determined to make Nevada not only the best place for my girls to grow up, but the best possible home for all Nevadans.

I love Nevada and will work every day to make it the best possible home for our families and our community.

Why I’m Running

I’m running because as a father of three young kids, it’s critical to me that we have a world-class education system in our state. Our schools are underfunded. We struggle recruiting and retaining teachers. Our students lack resources to put them on par with their peers in other states. These are the same issues that existed more than 20 years ago when I first started attending Nevada’s schools. Something has to change. Our K-12 education is ranked 48th in the nation. We need to fund our schools. We need to attract and retain the best teachers. We need to get innovative in our approach to educating our students. Fixing these things is essential for our kids to thrive, and I will not rest until we’ve achieved that goal.

I’m running because our small businesses are in dire straits. As an attorney, I’ve worked with startups and small businesses and helped them navigate their legal needs. As the son of two former small business owners and a former startup founder myself, I know how much passion and energy goes into keeping a small business afloat in the best of times, let alone in the midst of a global pandemic. Small businesses need more support and more access to capital. I will fight to make sure small businesses have the resources necessary to weather this storm.

I’m running because for decades our lack of a diversified economy has made us uniquely vulnerable in times of national economic crises. When bad times hit, they hit us hardest. I vividly remember the devastation in the wake of the Great Recession. The COVID-19 pandemic put nearly a third of Nevadans out of work. We need to revitalize and reshape our economy with an eye toward the future. We need to protect and build upon existing industries. We need to grow our technology sector. We need to attract new investors to our state. We need to ensure that working families have access to durable, high-paying jobs. And we need to encourage our best and brightest minds to innovate and found companies right here at home. We can and must do these things to secure our future.

I’m running because I see a bright future for our state, if we’re willing to work for it. Most states are at a place in their life cycle where they’re gridlocked and aren’t going to change much. Nevada is a state that hasn’t realized its full potential yet. It’s a state still on the rise where anything remains possible if we work together. I have tremendous pride in calling this state home, and am eager to help Nevada realize that great untapped potential.

It has been the privilege of my life connecting with my neighbors and community on the campaign trail.

I’m eager to provide the leadership they deserve.

My Vision for Nevada

I want to make Nevada a place where our kids will grow up and have opportunities. I want Nevada to be a place where they can receive a top-notch public education, go to college, get a high-paying job or found a company after graduation, and, if they choose to do so, raise a family. I’ve heard far too often that Nevada is a land of limited opportunity – that good jobs are hard to come by and that Nevada is a difficult place to raise a family.

Those things are true right now, but they don’t have to be.

We can revitalize our K-12 education system.

We can continue to develop UNLV and UNR into world-class campuses with strong graduate programs in STEM fields.

We can grow and diversify our economy to create jobs and opportunities that extend beyond Nevada’s traditional industries of hospitality and tourism.

We can attract investors, companies, and talent in the technology sector to our state to boost our home-grown startups and small businesses.

And we can take better care of our working families.

If we do our job right, people in other states won’t just come here on vacation–they’ll come here to be employers, they’ll come here to be educators, and they’ll come here to raise their kids.

Right now, Nevada is a good place to live and raise a family, but we can make it great. Together, let’s make sure home means Nevada for our children and for generations to come.
